This oil on canvas is housed in the original beautiful 19th C frame. It is 8" by 12.5" (framed - 16" by 20") It is signed lower left Rome 1960. Charles Amable Lenoir, French, 1861-1940. This lovely delicate portrait is oil on board. It is 8.5" by 11" in a newer classic frame with overall dimensions of 16" by 19". Lenoir is known for genre, portraits, interiors, nymphs, flowers and landscapes. He won the Prix de Rome twice, made his debut at the Salon des Artists in Paris in 1890. He won many prizes including the Legion of Honor in 1903. He is listed in Benezit, is in museums in France and his auction records go up to $123,000.
