Such a peaceful scene! This early 1900's painting, oil on Board. "Mill by Rivers Bridge". It seems to invite us to have a picnic here! Signed on the lower right, part of the name has been broken off, sad, but it reads, "J. Papie". No date but the dealer I believe correctly estimated the date near the early 1900's. Other than the two bottom corners, it's in very nice condition! Measures 16 3/8" x 11". So inviting for an... Click for details

Such a sweet tableau! This dear little painting of a cottage by a small river stream. You can almost hear the water gurgling by! Painted on a piece of beveled edge wood that's 1/2" thick, highly unusual! It is signed and dated on the back: Riviere d' Elle La Faoriet Morbihan par Girard - 1917. Measures 9 1/2" x 4 7/8". Has a tiny bit of surface wear, but otherwise is in very nice condition. A charming piece for any ro... Click for details

He started a career in engineering but in his early twenties he decided to become an artist. He moved to Arles in Provence where he bought a studio and began zealously painting the inspirational. Dyf was self-taught as an art... Click for details
