Fine and detailed Italian school landscape painting dating from the middle of 18th century. This piece is done with gouache and watercolor, on paper laid-down onto a mahogany panel. The work is still mounted in it's original carved, gessoed, and water-gilded frame and the glass over the painting also appears to be 18th century.

A "theorem" painting on ivory velvet in a rosewood veneer frame using the technique of stencil painting. The painting is delightful and the highlights refined. The floral arrangement features tulips, roses, morning glories and other flowers and two butterflies. Although there is minor discoloration in the velvet fabric, the art has apparently never been removed from the original frame. Ca 1850- 1870. 23 1/2 X 15"
