GERRY PEIRCE (1900-1969) This watercolor is approx. 9 ¼” x 7.” It is signed in the lower left “Gerry Peirce.” It is in very good condition with no staining or tears.
After studying in Cleveland and New York, Gerry Peirce lived and operated his own art school in Tucson, Arizona. He became know for his etchings as well as the tonalist watercolors similar to this one we have for sale. Listed in Davenport.

It is dated 1977 and titled Sayre #62 (other works from the Sayre series have sold at auction). It measures 30" by 22" (painting alone) and 38" by 30" in its frame. "A Street in Padova, Italy," 1918. This is the original watercolour which later appeared in a book entitled Our Italian Front, published in 1920 by
