This is a great plate from a scarce book called THE ANCIENT COSTUME OF ENGLAND.It shows a pair of fools or jesters as the would have looked in the mid 12th century.The sheet size is 16 by 12. It is in very nice condition with i pin head size spot.This was published by Colnaghi&co in london in 1813. The original image was by charles smith,the engraver was i. atkinson and the aquatinters were havell and hill. A very scarce image in original color.

This is one of the nicer large woodcuts of homers works from harper's weekly. One of his earliest lg 2 page scenes.This is from the jan 28 1860 issue. It is folded as usual with a few small center holes from having been bound at one time. Otherwise it is in remarkably clean condition with no foxing. It is matted in a cream color acid free matt. The image is 13 3/4 by 20 1/2 +margins

This is a very scarce lithograph of the origin of the great chicago fire oct. 8 1871. It is from a original painting by l.v.h.crosby and was published by h.m.kinsley in 1871. The image is 5 3/4 by 9 with wide margins and title. It is in very good condition with minor foxing. I have never seen another copy of this in my 29 years of selling prints.

A stunning and rare lithography by Corneille (Cornelis Guillaume van Beverloo born in Belgium 1922). The title is 'Dialogue d'ovilaux'. Corneille was one of the founders of the main modernist movements in Europe in the 1940s. First the Reflex movement in 1948 and later the Cobra movement in 1949. His works are represented in museums of modern art all over the world. Signed: Corneille 76 numbered 26/150 in pencil. Perfect condition.
Height: 29 3/4 inches high and 22 inches wide.
