This is a original large folio aquatint of the red throated diver from selby's british ornithology. It is plate no 78 and is hand colored with a 1827 watermark on whatman paper. This is the 1st ed.This print is in nice fresh condition having never been framed before.Size is aprox.24 by 18.Plates from the 1st edition are hard to find!

This is a original large folio aquatint with handcoloring of a glossy ibis bird by Prideaux john Selby. It is hand colored and is dated 1826 in the watermark in the paper.This print is in wonderful fresh condition as it has never been framed before.The paper size is aprox. 24 by 18. Selby was the 1st to do birds life size.He put out a book called Selby's British Ornithology over the course of 10 years. His 1st edition prints are quite scarce. This is a great plate from a scarce book called THE ANCIENT COSTUME OF ENGLAND.It shows a pair of fools or jesters as the would have looked in the mid 12th century.The sheet size is 16 by 12. It is in very nice condition with i pin head size spot.This was published by Colnaghi&co in london in 1813. The original image was by charles smith,the engraver was i. atkinson and the aquatinters were havell and hill. A very scarce image in original color.

This is one of the nicer large woodcuts of homers works from harper's weekly. One of his earliest lg 2 page scenes.This is from the jan 28 1860 issue. It is folded as usual with a few small center holes from having been bound at one time. Otherwise it is in remarkably clean condition with no foxing. It is matted in a cream color acid free matt. The image is 13 3/4 by 20 1/2 +margins
