Lithographs of cattle varieties from Emile Baudement's "Les Races Bovines", Paris, 1864. These are hand-colored in hand-finished frames. Sold as pairs - the bull and cow of each variety; in this instance "Pinzgau" and "Parthenais". More are available. Each is 26.5" x 22.5". Conservation framing materials used.

Framed lithographs of early Edinburgh by SD Swarbreck from "Sketches in Scotland", London, 1839. These are particularly fine early lithographs depicting all facets of life in Edinburgh in the early 1800's. Many others are available. This pair framed in a burnished metallic wood frame, each 25.5" x 21". Framed with conservation materials.

Hand-colored lithograph heightened with gum arabic, ca. 1870. Toned overall with light foxing. There is one pronounced foxing mark at the tip of the wing on the lower parrot, and a wrinkle in the left margin created a crease running 3 3/4" from the edge down and in 7/8" with three other small 1/2" tears along the bottom edge and one 1/4" on the right side. All of the tears should mat out when framing. Sheet measures 20 5/8" x 13 3/8."

Plate IX from the portfolio publication "Abbildung und Beschreibung Merkwurdiger Saugethiere" by A.F.A. Weigmann, 1831-1832. Very clean and bright image with a few light foxing spots. The top corners are chipped and a 3/4" tear near the middle of the right side has been stabilized by archival repair tape. Measures 18 1/8" x 12 3/4."

This lithograph by Peter Max is entitled "PIP II" and is signed and dated in pencil by the artist. There is no number anywhere and we found no watermark on the paper. This print was rolled and stored since its purchase in the early 1980s and is in mint condition. It was recently framed and resides with our client on the Upper East Side in Manhattan (New York City) and may be seen by appointment. Frame measures 25.25 by 32 by .75 inches.

This is an amazing print that has excellent auction sales and an even better provenance. This print was purchased from an editor at the MOMA, Barbara Rose. It was given to the MOMA by the artist to raise money for the employees, it is much rarer than the regular published edition. Note this was not a reprinting but taken from the exact run in regular edition. this print is signed within the PASTA MOMA stamp.
