Nice hand-tinted 19th c lithograph entitled Edinburgh, From the Calton Hill. The artist was Tho. H. Shepherd (1792-1864), a water color artist well known for his architecture works; Engraved by W. Tombleson, a British artist active from 1795-1835. The 5 x 7 print was matted and framed in the 1950's in a pretty gold frame with green and red. Total measurement is 8.5 x 10.5 and is ready for hanging.

English artist Henry George Hine was both a painter and an illustrator for magic lantern shows - working with the Royal Polytechnic Institution and top slide painters like H.L. Childe and W. R. Hill, who photographically reduced Hine's large watercolors to 7" x 6" slides, hand-coloured them and added special effects. They'd have been creating film animations today!
