Parain Bust of Apollo.
This beautiful bust made in 1861 by Brown Westhead Moore & Co is inscribed on the reverse 'C.DELPECH Redt'. It is raised on a socle base published by tha Art Union of London.
Reference to this fine piece can be found in a book by R Dennis ''The Parian Phenomenon'' Figure 797.

This fabulous antique statue depicting an elderly accordian player is carved from wood. Measures 18.75" high and 7" across and weighs 4 lbs. 4 oz. No hallmarks have been found. Underside has the remnants of an old layer of felt. Precise age and origin of this sculpture are unknown, but we suspect it dates from the nineteenth century and may be of German (Prussian), Bohemian or Austrian origin. This item resides on the Upper East Side of Manhattan in New York and may be seen by appointment.
