This beautiful Italian statue is carved from wood. The statue has a very distinctive aged ivory color. The wood grain shows through in some places here and there. There is original gold leaf that remains in both the hair and in the wrap around the child's body. There is also some red pigment on the lips and brown and gold in the eyes.
