Exquisite Bust of Jesus by French Pre-Raphaelite and Symbolist Artist Armand Point. Point was born in Algeria, and lived in Paris in 1888. He was awarded a medal at the Salon des Artistes Francais. He was influenced by the Pre-Raphaelites. In 1896 founded 'Hauteclaire', which produced ornamental objects. Original bronze bas-relief plaque by renowned American sculptor Roland Hinton Perry (1870-1941). This work measures 14 1/2" by 12 1/2" and is signed, dated (1917) and inscribed "sc" L.R. In good overall condition. Perry was born in NY and studied at the Ecole Des Beaux Arts in Paris starting in 1890. He quickly became a well-known sculptor upon returning to the US, and was responsible for the creation and execution of the "Commonwealth" sculpture for the Pennsylvania State Capitol building. ... Original marble sculpture by Theodor Mallener (Czech, 1892-1978). Mallener is a Czech sculptor born in Olomouc, Czechoslovakia. He apparently spent part of his life in Germany, where he died (Schwabmunchen, Bavaria) in 1972. He is listed mainly in Czech sources. Original bronze Art Deco sculpture by Raoul Eugene Lamourdedieu (French/ 1877-1953). Lamourdedieu was a sculptor and medallist, student of Falguiere and Charpentier. The sculpture, on its original marble base, measures 21" in length. It is signed, with foundry marks, and dates from around 1920.
