This Yixing mythical animal is in superb condition. I purchased it in Hong Kong in the mid-1980s and have kept it in a good environment since. It is signed by one Zhong Mei. As shown, the head can be removed from the body. K.S. Lo of Hong Kong put Yixing back on the map in the 1980s; he wrote books about Yixing ware; other writers in China have written about it in Chinese. In mid-May someone asked me where I purchased it. I opened it and the original receipt from Hong Kong is inside. That d... Click for details

An exceptional plaster figure of the Aphrodite of Melos.
The original from the 2nd century BC was found in 1820 by a peasant named Yorgos in an underground cavern on the Aegean island of Melos.
It was offered on March 1, 1821 to Louis XVIII who presented it to the Louvre.
Her graceful body symbolizes an ideal of beauty.
The French named her Venus de Milo. High quality, I think that it is made by the famous Louvre's workshops.
Origine: France circa 1920. Dimensions: 35.1/2in.(90cm) high.... Click for details

A group in terra cotta after Filippo Della Valle ( 1698 - 1768 ), showing Eros and Psyche as two young children. They are entwined and rest on a roc. Back winged Eros, with an arch and quiver. There is a larger marble version of this group in the Wallace collection in London. It was long attributed to Augustin Cayot ( 1667-1722 ) and is now thought to be by Filippo Della Valle ( Florence 1698 - Rome 1768 ). There is also a terra cotta version of this group in the museum of Aix en Provence and a... Click for details
