It came to us in what appears to be the original frame with the Walter Klinkhoff Gallery,Montreal, label on the back. Albert Cloutier was a painter, commercial artist and muralist who grew up in Montreal...

Signed J.J. and dated 1772 on the lower right, this watercolor on wafer shows an obviously well-off woman attired in the latest finery, and with an elaborate hairdo with a lace cap.

Excellent condition, with no flaws to speak of, and measuring 1 1/2" by 1 1/4"...

It depicts a seated Okame who is laughing behind her sleeve as she realizes the erotical significance of a long noc e Tengu mask. Signed in seal form. Netsuke is stained in tan and brown colors.
