Set of 6 Henry Alken comical, british tongue-in-cheek, fox hunting prints. Quite old. Purchased in England. Original frames, but newly matted. Each measures 14.5" x 16.5". Each titled Plate 1-6 and "Fore's Hunting Casualties". Black wooden frames with slight gold piping.

Big Green shows 4 moving figures.A similar image is in the US in the kas frane but it is 3 moving figures. I think these were not frequent uses for Maki Poem 71-84

Original bronze sculpture by David McFall, famed Scottish sculptor (1919-1988) created in 1973. Numbered 3/8 (although we believe only 3 or 4 were cast), signed "McFall", and with the foundry mark of "Fiorini & Carney Founders London". In excellent original condition. Original green patina--although much more muted in person than in the photos. Roughly 11 1/2" (width) by 7 1/4" (depth) by 9" (height). Please ask for additional photos if needed. Francis Hopkinson Smith, American, 1838-1915, "Bath Abbey". This rare, early 20th C. etching by Francis Hopkinson Smith measures 9 7/8 x 7 1/2 inches, pencil signed and titled. Smith was an author, artist and engineer, writing many books but also known for his atmospheric watercolors and oils. In his early years he is credited with building the foundation for the Statue of Liberty. At the age of 50 he gave up his engineering career and devoted the rest of his life to writing and painting.

Some time ago one Connie Elrod offered me a set of the Maki zodiac in a format never seen before or since. These are not pulled from cement blocks. Rather they seem to be printed lithographs. One James Imai, a friend of Maki who lives in California, commissioned Maki to do a special zodiac set for the Lunar Year. Imai seems to have sent a card every year to friends. Imai sent them to his friend James Elrod seemingly one every year for 12 years...

A charming and well limned naive miniature portrait painting on organic wafer. The sitter is a nice-looking young man attired in a black coat with brass buttons and the lapels with blue embellishment. Hi has a white shirt and stock, a high collar, and a yellowish gray vest. Housed in a cast foliate case with a rear glazed aperture containing cross-braided plaits of hair.

Condition is excellent, with no cracks, bowing, paint loss, etc. The case condition is also excellent. Sight size is 2 5/16...

An extremely well painted miniature portrait of a very handsome young man. The sitter is dressed in the traditional black coat and cravat, white shirt with a high stiff collar, and a stickpin. The portrait, on natural organic wafer, is housed in a 14K or higher gold case with a glazed rear aperture showing a lock of hair. Condition of the miniature and case are excellent, with no issues at all. Sight size is 2 1/8" by 1 3/4", and the locket size is 2 1/4" by 1 7/8".

A beautifully painted miniature, on organ material, of an older woman dressed in a dark dress with elaborate ruffled collar, a lace fichu and hat, the latter two with incredibly detailed brush strokes. Excellent condition with no issues. 2 1/2" diameter.
