This friendly little shepherd stands 6 1/2 inches tall. He is a 'made in Germany' article from the Erzgebirge, the southeastern corner of Germany where toy-making has a long tradition. Just like in days of olde, a toy peddler selling his wares of carved wooden toys from his vendor's tray. This 8 inch fellow is a smoker from the Erzgebirge of Germany where for generations families have lathed these cheerful wooden incense burners. His body can be removed from the legs to insert a special incense candle which makes the peddler actually smoke through his mouth. Antikhaus also sells the necessary incense candles.

These tiny nutcracker kings - 3 1/4 inches tall - from Erzgebirge are very colorful and have movable jaws just like their big cousins. Everyone knows the colorful nutcracker kings from Seiffen in Erzgebirge, the mountains in the southeastern corner of Germany. It was here in the 19th century that the first nutcrackers of this sort were made on lathes powered by running water. And today the workshop of Christian Werner is still making these little guys in just the same way as over a 100 years ago
