This folk art carving by Walter & June Gottshall is 9" high, including the base, which is signed W&G 84. The actual colors are a little darker and less bright than they appear in the photos. Pieces by the Gottshalls typically sell for $200-400 at auction. The condition is very good, no damage, and it dates to 1984.

This signed and dated 1989 troika series box is well painted entirely by hand. It is Russian lacquer art box numbered: 74995.[19A] The three running horses pull a decorated sleigh, a babushka covered woman and an enthusiastic standing driver for an exciting night ride. Clouds of snow powder glitter in gold. The horse manes are particularly striking in streamers of red and gold. Possibly the school name in Russian bottom right of the swirl and dot top border...
