19th C French black papier-mache with gold gilt and mother-of-pearl decoration. The wind-up clock was made in Great Britain and the paper-mache surround was created in France. In excellent restored condition, it measures 19" diameter.

A round facetted example of what can best be described as flying saucer shape, as seen from the side. Uncommon transparent red base. No condition issues. This company was in business in Monte Carlo for a very short time, from the late 1930s to the mid-1940s.
