Antique 19th century Chinese or Vietnamese polearm trident halberd, spear, of a rare pattern. The head is hand-forged from a single piece of steel composed three blades; each blade is single-edged, tapering like a dagger's edge, and is triangular in cross-section.

The blades appear from a short tang, split into three branches, forming a trident blade. The branches are decorated with punched designs.

These types of Tridents of identical form were used in China and Vietnam...

Antique 16th-century European large boar spear-pike head, exceptionally well made of hand-forged steel, with a broad leaf-shaped blade with a strongly pronounced medial ridge on each side, extending down a tapered tubular socket and struck with the maker's mark on one side and pierced with two holes for the pins to be fastened to the wooden pole.
