Really nice look with plenty of age. This would hang on the kitchen wall and you can put a pencil/pen through one of the hands and the paper would be stuck to apron. Someone has some point has stuck an old kitchen related card to it I would say. There is crack running through, near the top of the apron, but nothing comes away and seems to have been repaired many years ago...

Nicely made piece, I am presuming here that this is for some kind of incense, there is a hole at the side of the head where you would put your incense and smoke would then come out of the eyes... There are a couple of chops to the paint on the base, please see photos

What can I say about this item... for hose who have everything!!! This is an 1890's one of kind large Black Americana Toy. There will not be another of these... turn the handle (a little stiff) and the Boys will do a jig. The old Box lid is marked "Members of the Lime Kiln Club" and "Old Kentucky Home". The Lime-Kiln Club was a fictitious fraternal organization of African-Americans created by a Journalist/Writer in the late 1800's Open the lid and there are 6 fantastic characters....
