A handmade Art Deco pewter inkstand from the 1920s. This absolutely fabulous vintage Art Deco sheet pewter-over-wood desk set consists of the 8-5/8 x 5-1/2" base, with a fitted glass inkwell, a hand-done optical checkerboard Deco motif (stippled and gloss segments) and a matching 8 x 7/8" letter opener, which rests on one of the two channels on the base (the other is for a pen). Also included is a 5-1/8 x 2-1/8" rocking ink blotter with screw-on knob and checkerboard motif...

This handsome Art Nouveau cast metal inkwell would be the perfect finishing touch for a gentleman’s desk; richly cast in petal form with hinged dome lid and pen rest, on raised feet; it has a nice weighty feel; with a beautiful green enameled metal well insert; condition: excellent; very, very slight wear at high points; measurement : 5 inches diam. 2 _ inches high.

This is an unusual vintage cut crystal inkwell, with hinged jockey cap lid of brass and brightly striped enamel; ca. 1930, from the Saratoga estate of the late Tommy Luther, prominent American jockey and founder of the original jockey guild; of square form, decorated with columns of notched prisms; Condition: some minor chips on prism edges, wear to enamel; measurement: 2 inches x 2 inches, and 3 inches high.
