a fine iron tsuba for japanese samurai sword that dates to the mid Edo period, placing its creation date at approximately 1680 to 1710 AD
Signed: KUNI HIRO , this simple, yet elegant design is typical of tsuba used in battle.
This fine piece is of hand forged iron which has aged to produce a wonderful, dark patina.
Additional information :
Marugata form and kakumimi.
Kozuka itsu ana and kogai itsu ana are open.
Excellent condition, fine japanese antique.

Extremely rare and hard to find are genuine woodblocks for printing prints by the modern master, Hiratsuka Un'ichi. Offered here is a small hand carved woodblock of a cityscape which was most likely made for ex-libris prints. UN is carved in the block. the image produced from this block measures 2 3/4 X 3 1/2 inches. The block itslf measures 4 X 5 1/4 inches. These beautiful sterling silver earrings are hallmarked on the back with a “P”.
Found many artists in my hallmark books that use the letter” as their mark.
They could be also Zuni made.
Incredible detailed stamp work and the sterling silver feathers are hand crafted.
Earrings are 3 ¾ inches long, not including the silver wire and 13/16 inches wide.
Weight of pair is 0.45 oz. or 13 grams.
