Finely inscribed in Tibetan script on the top and the bottom corners, this thangka is composed of concentric circles. It could be viewed as the
overhead view of a stupa, or simply as a circular mandala. The widest of the circles depicts a watery world full of boats and
sea creatures. The detailing is particularly fine: even the unadorned gold corners are finally embossed.

A very nice quality of painting in reverse is seen in this crystal snuff bottle. It is hand done, not a photo transfer. Scenes of an old Chinese fishing village and fishing boats on both sides. It is about 10 years old. Brass spoon. Signed on side. It is 5" tall and comes with a brocade silk box. A good time to collect these nice reverse painted bottles while they are still hand painted in China. A good price for this quality.
