This fruitwood owl was handcarved with great skill. This is a Chinese carving based on a Japanese netsuke. The carvers with this skill are now few and old. This piece is about 10 years old. It is about 2" tall and the photos show the rest. An outstanding piece for a very low price.

They are being carved in China at a tenth the price of the Japanese originals, but they are as detailed and beautiful. The Chinese carvers that produced this beautiful Netsuke used pictures of Japanese originals. If it were Japanese, it would look the same but cost thousands of dollars. This great piece is about 5 years old, carved by hand by a highly skilled carver in China.
