Beautifully detailed sterling souvenir spoon
commemorating the LICK OBSERVATORY, SAN JOSE, CAL.The entire spoon is figural as the bowl and handle are in the shape of a miner's shovel and the top of the spoon is the miner's head, a pick and shovel and a pan containing gold ore.The reverse side of the spoon also shows excellent detail.It's marked "sterling" and has a maker's mark of an H in a pennant.Ca.1900. Very good condition. 4" long.
