This vintage Mao Ze Dong and Yang Kai Hui color ceramic statue features Mao Ze Dong and his wife Yang Kai Hui together, during the early days of revolution. Yang Kai Hui, the second wife of Mao Ze Dong, they wed in 1921 and she was executed in 1930 by Kuomintang forces. This sculpture was likely produced after "Gang of Four" and Jiang Qing's trial. This color ceramic statue captures a popular image of Mao Ze Dong heading to An Yuan during the Cultural Revolution. The story of Mao Ze Dong to An Yuan, "thus igniting the flame of revolution" was told and retold many times, albeit the story does not reflect the actual history, it was used as a strong propaganda image to praise Mao Ze Dong. This vivid depiction of a young Mao Ze Dong is quite eye catching with the green colored glaze. Size: 12" T by 4" W by 4" D.

Finally a red book from Cultural Revolution era that anyone can read. Unlike lots of Chinese red books, these versions, written in both Chinese and English are in better condition because few people read or spoke English and so few possessed them. Even if they had such a version they rarely used it, relying instead on their Chinese version.
