An Imperial German Army officer’s sword in its black lacquered metal scabbard. A stirrup hilt with wire bound composition grip, knuckle bow, langets and short quilion. A curved single edged blade with fuller and spear point. Overall length: 37 1/2 inches (95 cm).

The brass hilt of the classical Polish Hussar form is made from several (six) elements. The grip is decorated on sides with the typical eastern Galician diamond pattern and the heads of tulip flowers (influence from the Ottoman Empire). The massive triangular knuckle bow is decorated on the centre with imitation of a string of pearls attached to the almond shaped pommel. An Imperial Japanese Navy Officer's Full Dress Fore and Aft hat dating from the early 20th century right up to and including WW2. Still in its original storage case, this hat has been in storage for half a century. The two rings of bullion running over the rosette signify that this hat belonged to the rank of Field Officer. A WWll issue Imperial Japanese Army Officer's set of Shin Gunto sword mounts or Koshirae. The set come complete with a distinctive brown combat cover. Judging by the amount of wear on the ring holder (see photo) this set of mounts saw many years of service in the field. Overall condition is fair with no seppa and broken leather securing strap, however, will accommmodate a late war blade easily. Overall length is 38". An excellent display item to complete any WW2 Japanese Army display.

A late WW2 Japanese Army Officer's Shin Gunto sword with 'filler' blade (blunt dummy, not original and only to keep the fittings together).
