Period of the migrations into central Asia, 11-12th century, before the Mongol conquest. Well forged, with slender angular leaf shaped blade on expanded base over slender tang. Fine profile and good preservation. The Nomads were buried with their weapons and these come from those burials. See Nicolle fig.758c..

6-12th century. 4 1/2” length. Deep triangular section with large scalloped angular edge veins each with a pierced hole to the base. One vein broken through the hole. Just a handful of these known and Nicolle discusses them, p.288 (fig.343) suggesting that they were ceremonial, supported by the finely finished tang here.

The Kirghiz are racially related to eastern European peoples including Poles, Hungarian and Ukrainian and migrated to central Asia in the first millennium establishing an isolated civilization which reached to Siberia. The tip damaged.
