Mid Victorian period. Brass hilt with VR cipher and 2 VB RF 16 (2nd Vol Battn Royal Fusiliers) markings. 21 1/2” d.e. blade shows some patchy storage pitting. Original leather scabbard, sound with the chape lacking. Hilt excellent with fine patina. Military musicians marched to battle with their regiments, armed with only these shortswords.

Standard pattern with 10 5/8” d.e. blade with high raised medial of near cruciform section. Brass mounted hilt with ivory grip (tiny chip and check with fine patina). Hilt mounts show few very minor bruises. Blade bright with a little spotty smooth gray patina.

32 1/2” dumbbell section blade finely etched first half with foliage, crowned royal arms and GR VI cipher. Plated pierced strap work hilt with cipher as well. Wire wrapped sharkskin covered grip. Original leather covered field scabbard. Excellent and better throughout. Plating 100% intact with minor surface dulling. Blade bright with light surface discoloration only. Grip sound and complete. Scabbard shows minor storage bruises only.

One piece ebony hilt with spirally fluted grip wound with chevron form brass wire, brass base ferrule and fluted brass cross guard. Expanded integral pommel carved as a cushion or cap. 25 1/2" curved s.e. double fullered wedge section blade of plain fighting form. 27 1/4" s.e. blade with broad medial fuller chiseled with a seal flanked by bands. Nicely formed hilt with canted dished pommel, swelled grip and rounded terminal quillons. Uniform gray patina with few minor patches pitting and some lamination flaws. Few shallow edge nicks from use. Fine form and proportions.

23 1/2” curved wedge section blade with weak Klingenthal inscription to the back. Ordnance mark and numeral to the base. One piece brass hilt with ribbed grip and ordnance marked knuckle bow. Dark patina with some minor bruises but showing considerable heavy gold overlay in protected areas. Blade with smooth mottled patina and few tiny edge nicks.

32 1/2" deep section hollow triangular blade-excellent with near all original bright finish. Remnants of original blade seat. Iron hilt with slender urn form pommel, iron grip, flattened knuckle bow developing to offset quillon and fretted edge disk guard. All set with faceted iron studs to provide glitter in candle light. Hilt blackened overall for mourning but evidently all studs completely intact. Few minor chips to finish only.

Diced ebony grip and 30 1/2” straight broad fullered s.e. blade etched with foliage, trophies of arms and base panel inscribed p a guard a solingen. Hilt excellent with good patina and little wear from use. Blade quite smooth with some frosty light pitting to the forte only.

Excellent plus throughout. Even retains its original blade seat.
