Beautifully made early 60's dress from the Hong Kong Hilton Arcade in an iridescent Thai silk with piped pockets, hand made frog closures, and a matching belt. Many perfectly tailored dresses and suits were sold to Westerners who came to Hong Kong at that time to have clothing custom made or purchased in the hotels they stayed in. Wonderful late 1960's ensemble with palazzo pants in a gorgeous Chinoiserie print. The entire outfit was custom made, beautifully detailed and completely lined. The outside fabric is, I think, Italian silk in a stunning 18th Century style Chinoiserie print that's very colorful on a soft cornsilk yellow background. Gossamer silk 50's blouse by Dorothy Korby in a beautiful print of deep red and stamped gold on a tomato soup red background. The little gold buttons have rhinestone centers. There is some slight discoloration on the left collar that gets lost in the print. About a size 10, the blouse measures approx. 16" across the shoulders, 41" bust, 33" waist, and 23" overall length. Excellent condition.
