A really unusual and colorful Bakelite piece, showing a black Bakelite stork with a long yellow bill and yellow and black glass eyes. The sides of the stork are incised to give the effect of feathers. Bakelite base is a wonderful mottled amber color with a hexagonal lined inkwell to one side. There are two grooves in the base to hold pens, and the piece stands on four small metal feet. Really a fun Bakelite piece.

Hand-carved jadeite jade seal. It is carved from a fine texture jade stone, looks translucent. The stone is with natural two colors, honey and green. A foo dog standing on the seal, playing with a ball. The honey part is carved into the light on its head, which has a good meaning that "good luck is coming". It's size is about 3 inch tall, the seal is about 2x1.4cm. (shipping through Fedex international express is $15.)

A delightful uninscribed Chinese seal chop decorated with rats feasting at clusters of grapes. The subject matter seems more typical of Japanese netsuke, but this is a soapstone carving in a color called “chicken blood stone” which is highly prized by the Chinese. A lovely Australian terracotta ink well, also called a "pinch pot", measuring 1 3/4 inches in height with a circumference of 6 inches. The pot is dated ca. 1850 and was manufactured in England and discovered near Sydney Australia. The clay is a dark buff color and the exterior of the article is covered with ink stains of various other colors. The bottom is flat and the vessel is in extremely good condition.
