An unusual grouping of eight vintage 1940s moulded and hand painted hard rubber character figures. We haven't been able to identify the series or origin of this set (can you help?), and the largest, Dumbo, measures 2-1/4 x 2-1/2". Each has handpainted highlights in red and yellow and four have black painted shoes. Measuring just barely 6 inches in length, this fabulous example of 1920's folk art and hand craftsmanship exemplifies the stereotypical Mammy of the early 20th century.

Constructed with care and skill, Mammy's floral dress, white apron and white under-pantaloons were neatly machine stitched. Her facial features--- eye brows, eyes, nose, and lips --- are hand-stitched with embroidery thread. She has yarn-constructed black curls peeking out from under her red and white polka dot head scarf...

A group of four 7" silver plated luncheon forks in the International Moselle flatware pattern (1906-56). These forks are in fairly good condition with no monograms, pattern wear, corrosion, pitting, damage or repairs, but please note there is minor heel wear on the back of some of the forks, and the tine ends show wear to the outer tines. Otherwise the silver plating and pattern is intact...

An Edwardian rose gold plated cheroot cutter pocket watch fob, circa 1910. This is a fully functioning small cigar cutter with a 9ct rose gold filled body and steel blade, originally worn on a gentleman's watch chain. The cutting mechanism towards the end of the cutter slides open. Measures approximately 1.5” long. Very good vintage condition with minor wear to plate. A collectible accessory for the cigar lover.

A vintage hand painted wartime (disarmed) 17-1/2" mortar bomb with the stamped identification SSE 42 1-1/2 LBT. It has caged fins for stability and it has a an eyehook from which it was suspended from wire for display. It is painted in white, black, red and white and it has the legend "The Brig" in script. Measuring 12 inches high x 9 3/4 inches long x 6 inches wide, this extraordinarily rare, circa 1920's, Black Americana, wooden pull toy is called Shufflin' Sam!

Demonstrating some degree of age-related paint loss as seen in photos, Shufflin' Sam remains fully functional, shuffling his feet and twirling his blue umbrella when he is gently pulled along a flat surface. His manufacturer is unknown. On his base is written in ink, a very OLD price of $22.00!
