A set of 5 Neanderthal tools from Marbach, Germany. Chert, heights between 2 1/2" and 3 1/2". All legal site finds in excellent condition. The scraper on the left has some ancient, well patinated evidence of use wear. Nice, very sculptural and very masterfully conceived and executed group of tools. The several blade edges on these are still intact and quite sharp. The lithic to the right is a particularly concise and finely wrought burin. All dating to approximately 80,000-50,000 BCE.
