An early c1899 undated edition of "The Children of the New Forest" by Captain Marryat. This 7-1/2 x 5-1/4" book has 256 pages, green embossed and coloured covers with Art Nouveau style illustrations, gold title stamping on the spine and a black and white frontispiece illustration. Interesting lot of 3 Civil War books from Vermont and New Hampshire. Available are: Volumes 1 and 2 of "Vermont in the Civil War 1861-5" by G.G. Benedict (Burlington, VT: The Free Press Association, 1886). Volumes are hard cover with green cover and gilt letters. Books feature black and white portraits, engravings, and maps. Wear to covers. Binding weak of Vol. 2. Both have some staining. Volume 1 has stains that affect many of the pages. Library stamps.
