A collectible example of William I PAXS Penny circa 1066-1087 AD. The obverse shows facing bust,crowned and diadedmed, sceptre WILLEM REX. The reverse shows a cross pattee with an annulet in each angle containg one letter of the word PAXS.
AESTAN ON PINC - Winchester mint . The weight is 1.4 grams. North 848 / Spink 1257.
The coin is better in hand than the picture shows. A very decent example.
