This approximately 12 ½” x 14” Confederate States of America $500 bond (FP1371) is dated March 2nd, 1863. Noted as an 8% Coupon Bond, it has the bust of C. G. Memminger in the upper center, and a cotton plant in the lower center. Four coupons remain attached to the bottom of the bond. In overall fairly good condition (I’d rank it at a 6-7), and in spite of folds, a 1 ½” tear along one of the folds, and a few small holes, the bond would display nicely if framed and flattened behind glass. Boston 20 Sept. 1811 dated receipt for various commodities in quantity (evidently for resale) purchased by Nathan Logell from Isaac Bowers. Bowers was a Minute Man who enlisted for 8 months on August 1, 1775 to serve under Capt. John Perry and Lt. John Paine. 9 1/4” x 7 3/4”, hand scribed and signed by Bowers on both sides. Extraordinary piece of Americana.

Measurements: 8"x 4 1/2" pound note: 3 1/2"x2 1/2" 50 cent paper note This pair of paper money has been framed under glass with a metal rim. I have no idea when the framing was done, but the glass and metal are undamaged except for scratches to the red paint on the metal. Please examine the pictures carefully for details.
