Handsome corkscrews are wonderful to add to your collection or give as gifts. The purple one seems to have been well used from the looks of the faded PURPLE stain and inside of the barrel...perhaps the purple color is actually wine stained! I like that idea! The polished one seems to be olive wood...it has such handsome wood grain and is obviously hand carved,as there is a little carved swirl at the ends of the handles. This is rare Art Deco stylized horn dog head-form mounted opener having a finely hand carved dachshund head and glass eyes, brass banded on a steel shaft attached to a steel bottle opener, marked on the inside of the opener D Lund Co, Pat Nov 7,'33, Made in USA; very good condition. We like the old patina but may need cleaning, minor rust.
