This unusual marble stone statue is part of a pair of vintage garden statues. Tang lady is a popular form of garden statue art found in China. Tang dynasty images of a beautiful woman tend to be plump and wearing gracious ropes and pointy shoes. Their look, though tracing back to 900 AD is considered in the contemporary world as closer to the Japanese than Chinese, that, some say has to do with the influence China had with its neighboring country...
This vintage standing stone statue weights 200 lbs and measures 9" by 8.5" by 36". Black limestone was used frequently in Chinese stone sculptures, they are sturdy and often used for outdoor garden landscapes. The Buddha is in Varada mudra, the fulfillment of all wishes; the gesture of Charity. He is holding a begging bowl, in the shape of lotus blossom, this is a sign of the Head of an order.
A very nice wrought and spring steel garden loveseat in the style of Francois Carre. This is a vintage item but the style is one of the earliest of the Carre designs with a sprung steel back of vertical slats and a sunburst seat with curled wrought iron arms. The bench is 35" high by 37" wide by 26" deep. In very good condition.
A hard to find pair of oversized Carre "Casablanca" wrought iron garden rockers with oval sunburst sprung steel backs and circular sunburst seats, American ca 1930. Each is 41.5" high by 25.5" wide by 32" deep. Painted gloss white - no cracks or breaks, in very nice condition.
A pair of vintage Flamingo statues in cast iron with original paint surface, American. One is standing, 24.5" high by 14" wide: the other is pecking at the ground, 19" high by 16" wide. Some loss of paint and rust, otherwise good condition.
An attractive pair of vintage rustic oversized "his" and "hers" Adirondack garden chairs. Made of bent wood, probably hickory, artfully styled. "his" is46" high by 35" wide by 26" deep. "Hers" is 41" high by36.5" wide by 28" deep. Some wear from usage, otherwise very nice condition.
A vintage cast garden statue of St Francis of Assisi (the patron saint of animals) in classic pose holding a bird, American ca 1940. Very nice worn patina with accretions of moss and lichen. 43.5" high by 12" wide and deep. In good condition.
A very rare pair of oversized Carre Casablanca strap steel garden rockers ca 1930. Sunburst oval backs and circular sunburst seats and a rocker spring base. These have the original paint surfaces of turquoise and dark green and have no breaks or cracks to the spring steel slats. Each is 42" high by 25.5" wide by 30" deep. A few small rust spots; no structural deficiencies.
A rare and elegant tubular steel deco period garden rocker with circular arms and metal slats, American ca 1930. Very striking early design 34" high by 21.5" wide by 30" deep. Recently re-painted. In good condition. Two are available;sold individually.
An unusually large pair of vintage clamshell planters, French ca 1960. Moulded from a relatively light weight synthetic concrete these are a rare find. Each 14" high by 31" wide.

A patinated bronze decorative garden planter in the form of a lobed bowl on an acanthus decorated pedestal with three winged putti sitting on the rim. The putti are well modeled, and the overall casting is very nicely done. 51.5" high with a 25" diameter bowl. In very nice condition.
A rare set of wrought iron garden table and four side chairs with the Carre style sunburst seat chairs and flared backs. The same flared strap steel design is displayed in the circular table. The chairs American ca 1950; the table possibly French perhaps a little earlier. The chairs are each 33" high by 18" wide by 20" deep. The table is 29" high by 32" in diameter. All in good condition, recently re-painted.
Rare example of a Carre style loveseat with sunburst seat and flare back strap metal back, and two matching armchairs, American ca 1960. This is the only loveseat in this design I have seen. The loveseat is 36" high by 44" wide by 26" deep. The armchairs re 32" high by 26.5" wide by 27" deep. These pieces have been sand-blasted and powder coated in white and are in very nice condition.

The chairs do not have the sunburst seats, but have cushions with removable slip covers. Table is 29.5" high by 60.5" wide by 33.75" deep with a half inch glass top. Armchairs are 33.%" high by 25.5" wide by 25" deep. Side chairs are 32./5" high by 18" wide by 19" deep. In excellent condition.
