Vintage Japanese lacquer kogai style kanzashi - a hair pin - with black and gold lacquer decoration. Kogai type kanzashi consists of two sticks featuring a design on each end, which tend to be wider than the centre. Kogai resemble sheathed swords, with one end being removable in order for it to be placed in the hairstyle. A finely carved Chinese wood emaciated monk; skeletal figure with a kindly spirited realized expression. H: 5” with some cracking. $65.00

A small metal box which contains an ink stone to grind ink sticks for writing. The box has been cast in brass and has a copper bottom. The ink stone is secured in the lid with a spring frame. The top of the box shows an engraved landscape design with a scholar figure and a hut. By all appearances the box has not been used as it does not show ink stains, and it still has a new looking, temporary, six sided factory mark inside. Also there are Chinese characters engraved on the lid...

Chinese natural dark brown Amber Toggle, polished natural pebble shape, 4 3/8" high overall maximum height, and 1 3/8" high x 7/8" wide x 1/2" deep for the natural Amber piece only. There are some surface scratches and imperfections plus some infusions or bug inside the Amber piece.
