Japanese 20th century roof tile. The tile has a rabbit flying over the ocean, nicely carved into the top. The rabbit and waves are done in nice detail. The piece measures 11 1/4" wide, 10" tall and 6 1/4" deep.
This is a graceful 10.5" pear shaped vase bearing the seal of Ando Jubei. Enameled an unusual lush shade of plum/brown with a cream accent, it is decorated with silver wire flowers that appear gold against the dark ground. The bottom rim is marked "silver", the counter-enamel is dusty plum.
Condition: No chips, hairlines or repairs. There is minor scuffing to the base rim.
Superbly decorated very old bear skull, with typically Dayak incised designs all over its upper part. Beautiful partly encrusted patina. Indonesia, Borneo Island, Dayak Peoples. Length: 9" (22,7 cm), height: 3 1/4" (8,2 cm). Lower jaw and and a few teeth missing --- though these factors do not impair the rarity and beauty of the piece --- otherwise very good condition. A very rare ethnographic artifact. IMPORTANT: export to the European Community countries only.

This Chinese jadeite carving was made in 1970 by a jade carving student. He depicts the Chinese immortals Fu, Lu, Shou standing under what appears to be a peach branch, another good fortune symbol. The jade is polished having apple or mint green complexion.
Condition is excellent.

Katsuda Tetsu(1896-1980) was a Japanese painter from the Taisho(1912-1926) and Showa era (1926-1989). He studied Western painting at Tokyo School of Fine Arts (now Tokyo University of the Arts). He turned to Japanese painting and became an apprentice to Yamamoto Shunkyo(1872-1933) in 1923...

An antique Japanese Ikebana basket in a cylindrical form woven in a herringbone pattern. 6 vertical bamboo supports with flared feet connected with a lucky turtle weave at the base and a woven coin half the way up the side. The turtle would represent longevity and the coins would symbolize prosperity. With a star crossed base and two ring handles.

Chinese brush made of bamboo and horse hair. The handle is carved and painted with an inscription. The brush hair is horse hair. The top of the brush has a metal fitting with a ribbon hanger. It measures 13" long, the handle is 1" diameter.
