This graceful pair of Mamluk Revival Islamic vases have two different Islamic calligraphy cartouches with simple foliate medallions in between. There are also chain details encircling the vase near the top and bottom, as well as semi medallions ringing the bottom. They are the same size, obviously from the same maker, but like many Islamic hand crafted items, are not an exact match. The vases measure 12" tall and 4.5" across and weigh 16 ounces each...

The border has a geometrical floral band with red flowers, blue diamond shapes on cream ground. The center has a red ground with blue and cream colored designs. last quarter 20th century. Elaborately decorated brass tea tin or canister. Carving appears to be of Egyptian origin, it has seven panels of Arabic Calligraphy. The top rim is encircled by seven carved animals. Persian large oval shape Pottery Tile, 14 1/2" wide, 10 1/2" high, 3/4" depth, hand painted floral decoration under the thick crackling glaze, with normal small glaze frits on the edges, and tight firing hairline kiln imperfection on the bottom no major damage or restoration.
The basic fabric is a striped linen weave. The ends embroidered in vibrant colored yarn and decorated with folded metal. The decoration is identical on both surfaces. Condition: little patina. Dimension: 128 cm x 36 cm.
