This is a beautifully carved zitan small snuff bottle. The snuff is put into the bottle only by pulling out the little plug at the base of the gourd which is well-carved and in excellent condition.

Probably belonging to a geisha, this stunning Japanese silk crepe tomesode is made using the yuzen dyeing technique. The scene is high lighted with some very delicate embroidery and gold couching. The hand drawn decoration continues on the inside of the panels. This is a formal garment with five crests and is lined with benibana red silk.
