These kasuri kimono are very durable, and made to be worn as casual work clothes. I hope you can see the tiny round patches used to strengthen the areas where the sleeves meet the body. There are no company or designer's labels on these kimonos, but the quality of the workmanship are superior. The fabric is still very starchy and stiff. MacBeth-Evans American Sweetheart monax 6.5" Bread & Butter plate is in excellent/mint condition. This pattern was made from 1930-36. Nine plates are available.

Kokeshi, wooden folk toy of NE Japan. Height: 3.75". This is an example of the "Naruko-kei" tradition of Miyagi Prefecture. This particular shape was called an "ezuko" (basket child) in the local Miyagi vernacular. The artisan was Sakurai Shouji, who was born on January 1st, 1927 (Showa 2.) It is not dated, but was most likely made during the 1960's or 1970's. 10 Japanese Lacquer covered bowls with beautiful sprays of Chrysanthemums in gold and red colors continued from the top cover to the side of the bowl, 3 1/2" high with top on, 4 3/4" diameter-rim, gold painted wavy flowing water design under the cover. The condition is good, no damages.

Diehl's family moved to California in 1960, where he began taking courses in art at Diablo Valley College in 1968. This is a very nice erotic walking stick featuring a lady with her arms up fixing her hair. There is some great carving on this stick, be sure to check out the bow in her hair and the hair itself. With and ebony shaft and bone ferrule, this stick measures 35 1/2" x 1 1/4" x 1/2". The ferrule measures 1" and the collar 3/4". The handle itself measures 4 1/2" x 1 1/4" x 1/2". This stick is in very good condition.

Beautiful scroll painting by artist Yuan Feng Zhau of a robed man playing the flute, riding upon the back of an ox. The suggested movement of the ox seems as if it is dancing along with the music. Extreme attention to detail is shown, especially in the very fine brush strokes used for the man's hair. This standing lamp sports a cameo shade with a red background (not quite as bright as photo shows) with raised leaves and birds. The lamp measures 60" tall, and the shade is 9" tall with a 4" diameter. There is a lid matching the base that fits over the shade. There are minor flea bites at the top of the shade which are completely covered by the lid. Other than that, the lamp is in excellent condition.

This pretty, vintage, blue Madrid depression glass oval vegetable or serving bowl was made by Federal Glass from 1932 to 1938. This bowl measures 10 inches long X 6 7/8 inches across. It is in very good condition with no chips or cracks, however, there is a slight 1/2 inch minor indent at one spot on the inner rim of the bowl that was done in the making. Nice old Cambodian lacquered basket. Very few things survived the reign of the Khmer Rouge which makes old baskets quite rare. Circa 70 years old, there are some old repairs noted in the enlargements. D: 30cm/11.8in and H: 11cm/4.2in.
