Pair of vintage sterling silver and rosewood "supper" candlesticks designed and signed circa 1950's by American & Taxco, Mexico artist William Spratling (1900-67). Spratling referred to this design as "supper" candlesticks in his 1958-59 catalog. Each stick stands 3" high. A rosewood circle midway down on the stem is inset with 6 silver buttons. The silver bases are each 3" across. The pair weigh 117 grams, 6.07oz. Both silver and rosewood in beautiful condition...

This is a lovely set of Cohr 4 blue wax candles and 2 silver plate holders. The set is complete in its original box and has never been used. The candlestick holders have a neat, mod design. They measure 3 3/4" (and are concave) x 2 1/8" x 3/4". They have very good heft, weighing 5 ounces. They are marked Cohr with the Cohr maker's mark and DENMARK. The set is in excellent condition! The box is not in excellent condition (see pictures).

Midcentury Modern sterling silver water pitcher. Made by Alphonse La Paglia (d. 1953) in New Jersey. Baluster with asymmetrical oval mouth; stepped and round foot ring with flat beading. High-looping handle wrapped with abstract leaves; scroll terminal inset with Jensen-inspired seed-spilling pod on wire stem. The influence of the master applied to a traditional form. Marked “La Paglia Sterling 208”. Very good condition.

Designed by Spratling c. 1950's, this martini pitcher & stirrer were hand wrought in Taxco, Mexico. The pitcher stands 5 1/2" tall & weighs 400 grams. The stirrer/spoon is 10" long. Both are in excellent condition. Both the spoon and pitcher are signed on the reverse. The pitcher is pictured on p. 258 of MEXICAN SILVER by Penny Morrill & Carole Berk. An India punchwork sterling silver salver wall plaque circa 1900. This ornate, vintage India Raj period 6-1/8" across footed salver is in high grade silver. This fine example is likely Kashmiri in origin. It features an unmonogrammed cartouche and highly detailed engraving and punchwork floreate decoration. It has three demi-lune ball feet and an attached loop for hanging on a wall. This lovely serving or display piece weighs 133 grams and it is stamped simply SILVER...

A fine silver tastevin inset with a 1772 silver 8 reales coin from the reign of Carlos III. The deeply-curved sides of the tastevin are decorated in a characteristically Spanish baroque style with ornate chasing and engraving. The handle is in the form of a curled dragon-like creature.

Though they were fashionable in France in the 19th century, coin tastevins only became stylish in Spain around 1950...
