Extremely detailed pair of bronze statues of guardians to the Buddha called Niō or Kongōrikishi. While Buddhism usually promotes pacifism, the Nio guardians are said to have justified the use of physical confrontation to fight back against evil. Nio are typically placed on either side of a temple door. One statue, named Misshaku Kongo or Agyo, has an open mouth to represent the first sound in the Sanskrit language "a", symbolizing birth and overt violence...

These beautiful goblets were designed by Reuben Haley and produced by the Consolidated Glass Company in the late 1920's. The pattern is called 'Five fruits' and is one of Consolidated's scarce tableware lines. These goblets hold 9 oz and are approximately 5 inches tall. The color is green ceramic wash over crystal. A fun mid-century chrome and bakelite stoplight handled jigger. The side is marked off in three increments--"Safe", "Caution" and "Danger"--each with a jeweled light. The bottom is marked "Reg'd Design/Glo-Hill Canada". Montreal-based Glo-Hill made a creative range of barware and serving pieces for modern entertaining.

An unsigned 10 ½ inch tall colorless decanter decorated with 6 reserves with gold enameled intaglio flowers. The balance of the decanter is beautifully enameled with with multicolored sprays of leaves and crosshatching in the manner of Lobmeyr. The original stopper has the same decoration as the bottle including small intaglio rondels. There is a small polished pontil mark on the foot. There is some wear to the gold enamel on the intaglio portions...

Duncan and Miller Blue Opalescent Murano Platter, 14.5" across, Blue Opalescent, produced from 1938-55. It is in mint condition -- very hard to find, probably due to the delicate nature of the reticulated rim.

A 2-1/4" tall vintage sterling silver baby christening mug. This cup has traces of the original interior gilding and it is stamped STERLING 226 with a lion maker's mark. This mug has been buffed to remove some old engraved initials, however some minor dents and faint traces of engraving remain...

Offered is this beautiful Fratelli Toso 'Starry Night' Murano art glass vase. The vase is 8 3/4 inches (22 cm) tall and 5 1/4 inches (13 cm) wide at the top. It is in excellent condition. Polished pontil. Unsigned, but guaranteed to have been made by Fratelli Toso (a similar vase is shown on page 90 of Leslie Pina's book, 'Italian Glass century 20' - shown in last two pictures here for your convenience).
