We acquired this gorgeous pair of hand carved marble foo dog/ "Lion" guardian sculptures at least fifteen years ago. They were old then but were probably crafted about thirty or more years ago. Possessing intricately, finely carved manes and surface features, these charming fellows are of a style reminescent of the Ming to Qing Dynasty. This unusual set is hand-wrought in the style of early English regency garden furniture from the early nineteenth century.
