This candle holder is a nautilus form faience candle holder from Malicorne-sur-Sarthe, France, a town in the region of Pays de la Loire famous for its decorative ceramics and stoneware. A rival and complement to the nearby Quimper factory, many of the designs are similar in form. This piece is likely from the early to mid-20th century.
A very fine and rare enameled and lacquered and guilloché floral spray vase. The lacquer applied over enamel cloisonné flowers and an engine turned or guilloché silver vase. Measuring 4” tall by 3” high. The vase and accompanied vase (see # 3418) are possibly Imperial gifts for presentation
1940’s French ormolu filigree gold gilt display box casket with putti, angels. An unusual shaped round casket that tapers down to rest on 4 delicate feet. Featuring pinkish amber beveled glass panels with 6 oval side panels flanked on each side with standing putti, arms raised. A nice larger size measuring 7.5” diameter x 5.25" high, it is in near perfect original condition with just few age spots on the lining.

A French Art Deco cocktail pick set in the form a wishing well. A water bucket hangs from the winch and six red bakelite-topped cocktail picks are stored in the well itself. The The whole is set on a Macassar ebony base. Sets such as this were used on bar and café counters to serve cocktail garnishes, canapés or even escargot.

An antique Japanese Meiji period solid silver picture frame circa 1880-1900. This antique 5-1/2" x 3-1/2" frame has a bamboo pattern with a patterned ground; it has a textured snakeskin design paper over wood backing that originally had a support foot for standing up the frame. That is now missing and replaced with a wire so it can be hung on the wall. The frame front has copper round-head nails. It retains the original patterned backing paper and glass window...

An unusual French Art Deco cocktail pick set featuring a stylized snail carved from beautifully-grained macassar ebony. The snail has a very unusual streamline aerodynamic appearance and colorful phenolic ornaments on the antennae. The set is completed with an ebony and bakelite "basket" holding chrome cocktail picks with multicolored phenolic heads.
