A 19th century Chinese canopy lacquered bed of cypress and elmwood (ju-mu). The bed rail has a turned spindle gallery with a low relief carving of scrolling floral panels as the back splash. The canopy spandrel has turned hook-spindles for holding drapes or clothing. The main canopy lattice pattern has a centralized floral medallion. An antique Chinese seal chop of soapstone with an image of Hotei. Chinese seals are used with red ink or cinnabar paste (zhusha). A seal in an East is a general name for printing stamps and impressions which are used in lieu of signatures in personal documents, office paperwork, contracts, art, or any item requiring acknowledgement or authorship. The process started in China and soon spread across East Asia.

An antique pair of Chinese vases with lingzhi mushroom outcrops on a craggy rock platform. The lingzhi mushroom is a symbol of longevity and health. The platform could display an object. These wares originated out of kilns in the Shiwanzhen sub-district within the city of Foshan, going as far back as the Neolithic period. Each vase is pigmented with custard yellow and aubergine.
