Photo Album with 128 Photos of August 30, 1937 Installation Festivities of Chandrasingji, a Jadija Rajput as Thakur of Drhol, Khawiatar, India. Photos by Joshi Studio, Rajkot. The album has a lot of wear, but the photos are in excellent condition. Most of the photos are 8.5 x 6 inches (22 x 15 cm) with several that are 12 x 9.5 inches (30 x 24 cm). Album dimensions: 21 x 16.5 inches (53 x 42 cm).
A very typical figure from the remote Karnali area showing a so called "Protector" coated with white mineral pigment (Seto mato) mostly on the front side. The figure is in the standing position and was obviously kept inside. This kind of figures are associated with animist cult of protection of house or village. Few chips and a large crack which can be seen on the pictures but good overall condition...
Old mask with a severe appearance. The position of the orbits is asymmetrical, the nose is long and tapered. The mouth is small open showing small carved teeth. The inner crving is clean and symmetrical with a cavity for the dancer's nose. The ears are sculpted and large in size. The holes for the passage of the carrying links are of conical sizes, certainly indicating that they were made using the technique of the reddened steel nail...
Set of 2 graduated size of Tibetan Himalayan Yak Butter or ghee Lamp, 3/4" high 3 5/8" x 1 1/2" wide-larger piece, 5/8" high 2 7/8" x 1 1/8" wide for smaller piece, shows old age.

Magnificent Serpentine hand carved GANESH and Singha Lion Figure. Very good condition, no damage or repair whatsoever. Size: H. 20 cm. x W. 12 cm. x D. 4 cm. Very fine workmanship indeed.

Interesting set of two Indian or Nepalese silver figurines of musicians, c. early 20th. century.
The figures are made of fairly high grade silver, at least .800 or more. They are well-made with lots of added bangles and both playing instruments.

It is 10.1 inches (25.7 cm) tall measured with stand by 6.65 inches (17 m) wide. It is 2.1 Lb.
It has chips at the tail, small bent at the tip of the tail, enamel cracks at tail & rock, missing enamels, and surface wears and scratches (as seen in the photos).

A beautiful Wangden carpet from Tibet, made with Yak hair warp with thick wool pile and fringe borders.
Central floral pattern surrounded by a large tridimensional meander pattern.
These kind of carpets were traditionally used in the monasteries to keep warm while sitting during long pujia ceremony in the cold winter. But were also used by wealthy families.
