Millefleur decorated charger on a burgundy ground well covered in a colorful display of lush blooms, the exterior left bare. The double foot rim encircling the recessed displays a four character mark surrounded by double squares in iron red.

The two Chinese characters translate 'the way' and a broad road made up of many arrows point in one direction ultimately swinging upward; in the make up of this rather odd configuration is the obvious color 'Red' which completes the translation stemming from the two Chinese characters which roughly translates..., The 'Red' way points in the right direction, pathway to promotion...

Fukagawa Japanese porcelain vase of square section with indented corners, and underglaze blue and enamel decoration of a flowering prunus tree with chrysanthemum flowers at its roots. Excellent quality painting, skilled use of gold, green, tomato red, yellow and white enamels. Marked in blue enamel on the bottom with a mountain and inscribed FUKAGAWA TSUKURU (made in Fukagawa). Height 7 1/8 inches.

Gorgeous antique kimono in the best condition. Lined with red gauze silk, it is completely reversible. The color of the black silk has changed over the years to a very dark brownish gray evenly. The colors of the design are very classic Japanese colors as Imari red (brownish red) and same earth tone in every other colors. There is one tiny hole (1/16" in size) right by a family crest, Mon. There is no color loss inside.

Japanese woodblock print of an alley between houses in old Japan. A small shinto shrine stands outside a wooden kura door. Executed in shades of grays and blues. A sense of depth is created by the light at the other end of the alley. Signed in pencil by Katsuyuki Nishijima (born 1945) and number 23 in series of 500. Has oval red seal indicating early works. Unframed.
