The artist's black ink signature and red seal are at the lower right corner of the image. The Watanabe seal is missing, but the print is old and likely dates post-WWII. Gorgeous antique kimono in the best condition. Lined with red gauze silk, it is completely reversible. The color of the black silk has changed over the years to a very dark brownish gray evenly. The colors of the design are very classic Japanese colors as Imari red (brownish red) and same earth tone in every other colors. There is one tiny hole (1/16" in size) right by a family crest, Mon. There is no color loss inside.
Japanese baby's first formal kimono (miyagi), hawk on a pine tree hand painted in sumi-e (black ink) on silk, 32 1/2" W x 41" L.
This type of kimono is used during a newborn's first visit to the shrine.
The ritual takes place about one month after his birth. Traditionally,
the kimono was sent by the mother's side of the family to their daughter's
new family, bearing the family crest of the husband's side...

A rarely encountered Japanese shin hanga woodblock print titled "Fishing Boat" by Ishiwata Koitsu (1897-1987) dated in the left margin December of Showa 10 (1935). The artist's black ink signature and red circular seal are at the lower left corner of the image. This is a first edition impression bearing the Kato Junji publisher's seal in the right margin. Lovely small plique-a-jour bowl on three small feet, design of flowers, good condition, size is 3 5/8" wide diameter by 2" tall, Showa Period (circa 1930's), Japan.
This is a nicely done vintage Japanese Cloisonne vase with two Angelfish. The work is both silver wire and wireless. It's a heavy stout piece with no signature. It measures 6 1/4 inches by 6 1/4 inches. Over the years, we haven't seen many Angelfish vases.

Unusual early Showa period (1930s) Japanese mingei (Arts and Crafts) small shallow metal box with enamel decoration of a flowering prunus tree branches with leaves and blooms. Wonderful use of moriage (piled-up enamel) techniques, beautiful work, excellent patina, in perfect condition. Most probably made by the Ando company. Length 3 inches.
This is an exquisite example of Japanese Cloisonne mounted on a silver-plated form. As the images show, The wire and wireless enameling are superb. Condition is also outstanding. It stands 8 inches tall and is 7 1/2 inches wide. We never seen another like this one.

This is a small nicely done Japanese Cloisonne vase with a gold wire butterfly. The enamel is of high quality and it appears like it could be a later Hayashi piece. It stands 3 3/4 inches tall and is in excellent condition. Just has come wear to silver on rims. It is not signed.

It is 3.54 inches (9 cm) tall by 2.36 inches (6 cm) wide. It is 101 gram.
It is painted some sort of shellac at the inside. The shellac has since cracks and faded and that is why it has a crazing and dripping look. It has tarnished metal, minor missing enamels, and surface wears and scratches (as seen in the photos)...
